Determinants of household poverty in Arsi Nagelle town, West Arsi Zone, Ethiopia

The struggle to achieve above the poverty line at household level in urban areas of Ethiopia dates back an extended period. In this regard, study was conducted identify and analyze determinants case Arsi Nagele town. employed both primary secondary data. Preliminary data collected from 337 randomly selected households two sub-cities by questionnaire. Both descriptive Logit regression model used for analysis. From three schools thought, basic needs approach is as poor non-poor. Sixteen (14) explanatory variables, four continuous ten discrete, were included logit model. Out these sex head, age marital status family size education head house tenure, access electricity, market center, credit, clear sufficient water, existence solid institution among significant variables affecting household's poverty. research found that area's food total 13,788 Birr 14,436 per adult year, respectively.
